Pauline Hanson

Pauline Hanson commenced her political career, eventually being elected as the Member of the Australian Parliament for Oxley, serving from March 2, 1996, to October 3, 1998. During this period, she founded the One Nation political party in 1997, establishing a platform characterized by populist, conservative, and anti-multiculturalism policies. In 2006, her influence was recognized when The Bulletin named her among the 100 most influential Australians of all time. Her autobiography, "Untamed and Unashamed," was published in March 2007. Hanson has been divorced twice and has four children.In 2003, Hanson faced legal challenges when she was convicted of electoral fraud by a jury in the District Court of Queensland and sentenced to three years imprisonment. However, on November 6, 2003, the Queensland Court of Appeal quashed all convictions, leading to her immediate release. After a period away from direct leadership, Hanson rejoined the One Nation party in 2013 and reassumed its leadership in 2014. Her political resurgence culminated in her election to the Senate, representing Queensland, at the July 2016 Australian federal election.
