Samuel Lloyd Jr. was an American character actor and musician, born on November 12, 1963. He gained significant recognition for his role as the perpetually downtrodden lawyer Ted Buckland in the comedy-drama series Scrubs, which he played from 2001 to 2009, and later reprised on Cougar Town in 2011. His acting career also included appearances as marriage counselor Dr. Albert Goldfine on the mystery-comedy-drama series Desperate Housewives from 2004 to 2005. Beyond his acting, Lloyd was an accomplished singer, performing with the a cappella group The Blanks, which also made appearances on Scrubs. He came from a family of actors, being the nephew of Christopher Lloyd and the son of Sam Lloyd III; both he and his uncle made guest appearances on shows such as Malcolm in the Middle and The West Wing.
In January 2019, Lloyd received a diagnosis of an inoperable brain tumor, which was subsequently identified as metastatic lung cancer that had spread to his liver, spine, and jaw bone. This diagnosis occurred shortly after his wife, Vanessa, gave birth to their first child, a son named Weston. In May 2019, Lloyd provided an update via his GoFundMe page, stating that the tumor and hematoma in his brain were "virtually gone," though he clarified that he was not cancer-free or in remission.

With an Ascendant in Libra, the native presents a visage of grace, diplomacy, and a deep-seated desire for harmony and balance in all interactions. This outward presentation, however, belies a complex inner world. The Sun in Scorpio, nestled within the second house, reveals a core identity forged in intensity, depth, and a profound need for control over their resources and values. This placement imbues them with a powerful, penetrating gaze, a magnetic allure, and a drive to uncover hidden truths, especially concerning what they deem most valuable, be it material possessions, skills, or self-worth. They are not content with superficiality; rather, they seek to transform and own their reality with unwavering resolve, often through intense focus and a willingness to confront the shadow aspects of life.
The emotional landscape is one of exquisite sensitivity, as the Moon resides in Libra within the twelfth house. This suggests a deep, often unconscious, yearning for connection and partnership, yet also a tendency to internalize emotional conflicts or to project them onto the unseen realms. There's a profound capacity for empathy and a desire to mediate emotional disputes, but this can be challenging when their own feelings are not fully acknowledged or integrated. The twelfth house placement can make these Libran emotional needs feel elusive, manifesting as a subconscious need for peace and fairness that influences their dreams and inner life. With Mercury and Mars also in Scorpio in the second house, and Venus in Sagittarius in the third, their communication and actions are geared towards exploring, understanding, and asserting their values and beliefs, often with a blend of investigative rigor and adventurous intellectual exploration, driving them to express their profound insights and desires through their immediate environment and social connections.
