Prince of Wales George

Prince George was born on July 22, 2013, as Prince George of Cambridge, the first child of Prince William, then Duke of Cambridge, and Catherine, then Duchess of Cambridge. He was baptized on October 23, 2013, by the Archbishop of Canterbury with water from the River Jordan. Born during the reign of his great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth II, he is a member of the House of Windsor. At birth, he was third in line to succeed his paternal great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, following his paternal grandfather, Charles, then Prince of Wales, and his father, William. Upon the death of his great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth II on September 8, 2022, his paternal grandfather ascended as King Charles III. The next day, September 9, 2022, his father was newly titled as Prince of Wales, and George subsequently received the title of His Royal Highness Prince George of Wales, becoming second in the line of succession to the British throne. His parents have consistently sought to maintain his privacy during his upbringing, with Kensington Palace issuing a statement in August 2015 requesting global media to cease unauthorized photography due to intrusive paparazzi methods.
