Lance Ito earned his Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude in political science from UCLA in 1972, followed by a Juris Doctor from UC Berkeley in 1975. He began his legal career as a firm associate from 1975 to 1977, then served as a Deputy District Attorney for Los Angeles from 1977 to 1987. His judicial career commenced with his appointment as a Los Angeles Municipal Court Judge from 1987 to 1989, and subsequently as a Superior Court Judge starting in July 1989.
Ito gained widespread public recognition when he was appointed to preside over the O.J. Simpson murder trial on July 22, 1994. Known for his intelligence, careful approach, and fairness, he oversaw the jury selection process which began on September 26, 1994, and the trial itself, which commenced on January 24, 1995. The nine-month proceedings, which concluded with a 'not guilty' verdict on October 3, 1995, were described by Ito as a significant personal challenge, and he faced criticism regarding his management of the courtroom. Outside of his professional life, Ito married Margaret York, who served as the police chief of LAPD's bunco-forgery unit, in 1981; his personal interests include classical music and running.

With a Leo Ascendant, the native steps into the world with a radiant, confident, and dramatic flair, naturally drawing attention and embodying a regal presence. However, this outward charisma conceals a Leo Sun placed in the twelfth house, suggesting that their core identity, their very essence, is deeply intertwined with the subconscious, the unseen realms, and perhaps a hidden wellspring of creativity or spirituality. This individual's true brilliance may not be fully revealed to the world, often expressed through acts of compassion, artistic endeavors that touch the soul, or a profound, albeit private, sense of purpose. Their innate desire to shine is tempered by a need for solitude and introspection, a journey inward to understand the source of their inner light.
The emotional landscape is a dynamic interplay of fiery Aries in the eighth house and nurturing Venus in Cancer within the eleventh. The Moon in Aries fuels a passionate, impulsive, and fiercely independent emotional nature, seeking intense experiences and profound transformations. This can manifest as a deep-seated courage in facing life's crises, but also a potential for emotional volatility. Meanwhile, Venus in Cancer in the eleventh house grounds these intense emotions in a desire for deep, familial bonds within their social circles and a yearning to contribute to collective well-being. They seek to nurture and be nurtured by their chosen community, finding emotional security through shared ideals and supportive friendships. This creates a fascinating dichotomy: a soul driven by a powerful, almost primal emotional core that simultaneously craves belonging and finds solace in the shared dreams of a collective.
