Becky G first rose to prominence in 2011 by uploading cover versions of popular songs to YouTube, which garnered significant attention. Her videos caught the eye of record producer Dr. Luke, leading to her signing a recording contract with Kemosabe Records, an imprint of RCA Records. During the development of her debut material, Gomez collaborated with notable artists such as will.i.am, Cody Simpson, and Cher Lloyd. Regarding her personal life, she dated American singer Austin Mahone from February to August 2015. In June 2016, she confirmed a relationship with American professional soccer player Sebastian Lletget, with whom she announced her engagement on December 9, 2022. Lletget issued an apology for cheating allegations in late March 2023.
